GitLab runs as a service, and in our setup, it's managed through a systemd unit named gitlab-runsvdir.service. This setup ensures the GitLab instance runs smoothly, benefiting from the systemd's management features, such as auto-restarts and detailed logging.

3. Maintenance, Backup, and Troubleshooting:

Maintenance:

  • Periodically check for GitLab updates. Keeping your GitLab instance updated ensures you benefit from the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements.
